Week 1: Playing with Camera Settings

This blog post will have some of the photos I took from my first photography class. We focused mainly on shutter speed and aperture, specifically looking at how a lower aperture will blur a background and let more light in and how the faster the shutter the more movement is visible.

The blurry images were taken using a slow shutter speed while the images of motion (such as the birds) that are clear are done using a fast shutter speed. I had some issues with the exposure of some of the photos but after fixing the aperture and shutter speed it all worked out. After using the cameras I have become more confident working with outdoor lighting. After this class I was able to take the camera home and work with my own settings, here are the photos I took:

They are not perfect by any means, but taking the camera helped me to get confident with taking different types of images in different lighting and settings. However I did enjoy looking at framing especially with windows as the lighting and frame work is very interesting to me.
